The Separation of the 4 varieties

Posted by admin

The ABLA has an interesting article on how (and why) the 4 varieties of the Belgian shepherd (Laekenois, Tervuren, Groenendale, and Malinois) were separated back in 1959. While I personally don’t agree with the separation, I’m (for some reason) not surprised to see that politics back then were as strong as they are today and its more about money and owners than it is about the dogs.
